Just back from Krabi
few days ago, and finally I spare some of my time on blogging. Basically we (Cheryl,
Chin Ying, Grace and I) planned for a 3 days 2 nights trip to Krabi since
everyone is on stress-free mode. They slept over in my place one day before the
trip because we’re leaving in the midnight. We left home at around 2.30am by
car and reached LCCT around 4am. After
checked in, we actually waited for our flight at around 7am. And we reached
Krabi International Airport at 8.30am. Checked in the immigration, collected our luggage and
bought the bus ticket to back to our hotel first.
After settled down everything, we got ourselves brunch at the café a
stone throws away from our hotel. Then, we just walked around the area and
sight-seeing. In the meantime, we booked and get ourselves the next day trip to
Ao Nang islands. After that, we just went to Khao Kanarb Nam, so called Krabi
Twin Mountains. We can clearly see twin 100 meter high limestone pinnacles on
either side of the banks of Krabi River. Moreover, they have been the symbol of
Krabi itself.
Next, we went to the Grovaram Temple. It is in style of Thai classic
palace and all the tourists should not miss to visit and take their pictures
with this enormous castle. In addition, the temple has been being historically alongside
with Krabi people from the beginning, so get into the temple and how the temple
make you will feel so calm and rested.
We went to the famous city night market after that. City night market is
around 3 minutes’ walk from the hotel. It is a good place to hunt for cheap
local food, drink, local snack, Thai fruits in season or Homemade Thai desert
(Local fruits and sticky rice with Thai custard are recommended). From there, you
will see a lot of local people in this place shopping for their dinner too. Pay
a visit to this place is a must when you are in Krabi.
That’s basically how we spent our first day in Krabi.
The next day, we woke up early and had our breakfast before started off
trip to Ao Nang. Ao Nang is just beyond Krabi town Thailand. The town consists
chiefly of a main street that wraps around a large hill and fronts the beach,
the road is totally dominated by restaurants, pubs, shops and other commerce
aimed at tourists. In fact Ao Nang wasn't more than a fishing village until the
toursit boom. Now the main beach area is used by sunbathers to a certain extent,
but there are hundreds of long tail boats that offer access to other beaches of
Railay and daytrips to nearby islands of Poda and Chicken Head.
Back to hotel after that, had shower and we went out again to buy souvenirs.
It’s quite hard for us to buy souvenirs at there since we went there at the
wrong time. They usually sell all these at night market which only available on
Friday, Saturday and Sunday. That’s why the choices for us are quite limited.
Still, we bought something for our family and friends.
For the last day, we can’t shop anymore, so we just had our breakfast
and last time visited to their Supermarket and we went back to hotel to pack
our luggage. Till then, we took 2.30pm flight back to the homeland, Malaysia.
